Resources and Logins

There are many great resources (within and outside of the School Webmasters systems) that we can use to enhance our Web sites. We encourage you to take advantage of them. And if you find somethin cool, please let us know so that we can add it to this page.

If you need to use any of these resources (for training purposes or to help you do your jobs) please feel free to do so. However, please don’t give out these links or passwords to others as we pay for these subscriptions and if we abuse our memberships we can be charged more.

Helpful Training Sites

GoToMeeting
This is a subscription that allows us to conduct online meetings with screen sharing capabilities. We have an annual membership and you’re welcome to use it for any School Webmasters meetings or training or just sharing of ideas. If you’ve never used this before you’ll first go to the site and download the software to your computer. Then you can either host a meeting or join a meeting. Only one of us can host a meeting at a time.

lynda.com is a leading online learning company that helps anyone learn business, software, technology and creative skills to achieve personal and professional goals. Through subscriptions, members have access to the lynda.com video library of engaging, top-quality courses taught by recognized industry experts.

Graphic Resources

Use this site to view and save stock photos to a lightbox. Please make the lightbox public, then send a link to Melanie, and she will send you the downloaded files. If you receive an out-of-office reply, please email Bonnie. We can download 50 photos per day. 

    Graphic River
    Graphic River is a site that has multiple types of graphics and Photoshop actions, elements, brushes, etc. If you find something on GraphicRiver.net that you like, please feel free to download it. We do ask that you check the server first and make sure that the Graphic River folder doesn’t already have that graphic element already in there. If you do purchase something, please make sure to add it to the server in the Graphic River folder so the other designers have access to it as well. If the site is out of credits, please contact Tammy to have more credits purchased.

      Chicago Manual of Style
      We have an annual membership for the Chicago Manual of Style. This is a site to check for proper grammar or styles and to get answers to those sticky writing questions.

      Helpful Fire Fox Add ons
      Web Developer – This has many tools that will help you become a CSS guru.

      Open With – This makes little icon buttons on your tab bar that will open up whatever window you are currenlty looking at in the browser of your choice.  Very helpful for all of those cross-browser checks.

      DownThemAll – Lets you download all links or images on a page quickly and easily.

      QuizEgg is now Testmoz

      You can use Testmoz to create quizzes for LMS training and anything else you can think of!
