Divi Theme Builder
The theme builder is where we can edit headers and footers for the entire site, as well as set up themes for particular pages like search results or full news articles.
Posts Theme (News Articles) – Admin Only
The All Posts theme is created during site setup, and should already be on the site. If it isn’t, please let your supervisor know.
If a site has more than one post category
We have some sites with a main news page, generally for the district, but they also have separate news pages for their schools. This requires additional post layouts to be set up.
- Before you get started, make sure that posts categories have been set up for the separate news pages.
- Hover over the existing All Posts theme, and click on the icon that looks like two squares overlapping to duplicate it.
- Once it is duplicated, a new box will pop up with setting options. Under Posts, hover over the box for Posts with Specific Categories, and check the box for the appropriate category.
- Hit Save.
- Click on Save Changes at the very top of the page.
- Now, you need to update the button in the theme to go back to the correct news page.
- In the Posts in Specific Categories theme you created, click on the pencil icon next to Custom Body.
- Scroll to the very bottom and click on the settings icon for the button.
- Expand the Link section.
- Update the link to go back to the appropriate news page. This may be a school news page, such as /elem-news.
- Click the green check box.
- Save the layout by clicking on the purple circle at the bottom of the page, and the Save.
- Exit the theme by clicking on the x in the top right corner.
