Customer Support Training Overview

Keeping our sites current one request at a time!

What We Do

We are excited to have you as part of our updating team at School Webmasters. Our company designs and maintains websites for schools and educational services. We are our clients full service webmasters and with that job comes a responsibility to delight our customers and exceed their expectations. When our clients need an update to their website, they will submit a request for the work to be completed through our customer service portal. As an updater, you will be responsible for the following:

  • Modify existing website content as per update, including writing short articles and editing text when necessary
  • Complete updates accurately, according to client instruction and the School Webmasters Style Guide as well as in a timely manner
  • Coordinate with clients as needed to complete updates
  • Check and respond to email on a daily basis, checking email several times a day to keep up with client needs
  • Participate in ongoing training and development

Please take time to cover the videos and training documents available on this site so that you feel prepared to start your important role as a team member at School Webmasters.

To get you started, we will begin with the basics of the system and then move on to more area-specific training. Using the Table of Contents in the sidebar, you will navigate through the lessons.

Forms

For forms, we are using a plug in called Gravity Forms. The first video below is a quick one showing you what you’ll see when you first click on Forms to get started. You’ll need to copy/paste the license key in the first box. Please reach out to Melanie for the license key, if needed. You’ll see what I’m referring to in the video:

Gravity Forms has a lot information available to us. The link to their videos is below, but you can find the basics you need in the video titled “How to Create a Simple Contact Form”. As a side note, there’s more than one way to add a new form field or edit an existing field. You can play with it and do what works for you.

After you’ve created a form, there’s a video on our Google Drive showing you how to add the form to the page:
